Book Binding Workshop

  • Moja Coffee 1412 Rupert Street North Vancouver Canada (map)

In this awesome workshop, we team up with Chanel of BitterMelonBindery to learn how to make hand bound books that inspire creative habits.

The intention bound into each book is to elicit delight and inspire creativity. Just like us, no two books are the same. Chanel will guide us through this experience with the proper tools and materials to create something beautiful, personal and meaningful to you.

We will be learning the Coptic Stitch method. Coptic Stitch is a bookbinding method that comes from early Christians in Egypt (the Copts) and was used from as early as the 2nd century AD to the 11th century. Coptic binding allows books to open flat, which makes them left-hand friendly and great for various artistic mediums such as watercolour. The open spine featuring a chain stitch makes this binding unique.

$60 includes all materials and light refreshments. This will also be a smaller class and tickets are limited so hurry and don't miss out!
